How long does plastering take?
Typical timescales for skimming, drying and painting a freshly plastered room.
A typical room takes one to two days to skim, depending on its size and the condition of the walls. Larger jobs, ceilings and re-boarding add time.
Plaster then needs to dry before it can be painted. Expect several days in warm, ventilated conditions, and longer in winter. Painting too early traps moisture and can cause patchy results.
We agree a timetable before we start, so you know when each stage will be finished and when you can move furniture back in.
